Job Description

An Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager by overseeing daily operations, including staff supervision and training, inventory management, customer service, and financial record-keeping to ensure a positive guest experience and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities also include enforcing health and safety regulations, managing scheduling and payroll, handling complaints, and contributing to the restaurant's profitability. Key Responsibilities

Staff Management:

Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule restaurant staff, providing guidance and performance feedback to ensure efficient service.

Customer Service:

Handle customer inquiries and complaints, striving to provide exceptional service and a positive dining experience.

Operational Oversight:

Assist with the smooth running of daily operations, including managing inventory, placing orders, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Financial Management:

Manage cash transactions, maintain accurate financial records, assist with payroll, and contribute to inventory control and budget management to maximize profitability.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Ensure the restaurant adheres to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling procedures.

Inventory & Supply Management:

Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock checks, and assist with ordering supplies and equipment to meet restaurant needs.
Qualifications and Skills

Experience:

Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a restaurant or food service environment.

Leadership:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Communication:

Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills to interact effectively with staff and customers.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in operational processes, inventory management, scheduling, and financial record-keeping.

Availability:

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as the role often requires flexibility to cover various shifts.
