Job Description


The Assistant Manager - SHE is responsible for implementation of the SHE Management System and enhancing the overall organisation of SHE culture. The person will report to the National SHE Manager (India), The incumbent will have to work as part of a multi-functional team and this involves collaboration with the internal team and external stakeholders. Participate in health & safety training necessary for him to perform his roles effectively. Create awareness of the SHE policies and procedures in the organization. Advise and assist the Business in effective SHE Management. Maintain SHE manual, procedures, SHE Legislations/ Codes/ Standards and other related records. Organize and conduct health & safety training/ briefings. Recommend and work with SHE Coordinators to plan SHE promotion. Plan and conduct SHE inspections. Look into and address SHE issues brought up by the authorities, staff, management, customers or contractors. Recommend correction and improvement strategies for the business. Maintain consistent communication with the Branch Manager on SHE matters. Monitor and update business of any new or revised SHE standards/ regulations from the regional office, authorities or customers. Ensure all incidents are properly investigated and appropriate follow-up actions are taken. Investigate serious accidents/ dangerous occurrences with the Investigation Team to determine root causes and monitor the follow-up of preventive measures to prevent future occurrences. Handle general SHE related correspondence. Report and review the organizations SHE Performance with the Regional SHE Manager and Business Management Team periodically and develop Strategic SHE Plans. Report accident data on a monthly basis to National SHE Manager via SHE Scorecard. Review and report the SHE performance of the business every 6 months to the Regional SHE Manager via the On-line SHE Scorecard. KEY DELIVERABLES Controlling LTAR & WDLR in alignment with SHE AOP Target Conducting SHE Audits in the branches and ensuring NC are closed within time frame decided by National SHE Manager Conduct monthly SHE capability with the SHE coordinators and provide SHE function support to all business CORE COMPETENCIES Good knowledge of occupational safety management system Conducting Risk Assessment and mitigating risk by implementing right control measure Occupational safety auditing skills 3 or more years of relevant experience in Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Possess degree or diploma in Health & Safety Graduate from science, agriculture disciplines Willing to travel 10 days per mo
