Position Summary

Description & Requirements

The Assistant Manager - Internal Controls \xe2\x80\x93 Continuous Improvement will spearhead quality initiatives that ensure that the internal controls team activities and the internal controls program are enhanced. You will have the opportunity to lead a team that is tasked to proactively improve the quality of internal controls planning procedures, execution through control testing, participation in process improvement programs, and interaction with key partners to obtain constructive feedback.

Description & Requirements

Collaborate with the Global Internal Controls team to assess the effectiveness of internal controls activities, accuracy of information reporting, efficiency of operations, and compliance with applicable regulations.

Acts as a catalyst for change and innovation that aligns with the changing needs and expectations of the internal controls team and our business and controls stakeholders

Engage with cross-functional team to leverage strategy, scaled capabilities and drive consistency across the team where possible

Supporting the accurate and timely production of primary stakeholder reports (including Executive and Non-executive management) and manage the key stakeholder feedback process and consolidate results.

Demonstrating a clear, systematic approach to solving complex issues and able to communicate solutions in an effective, efficient, high-level manner.

Establishing and maintaining the schedule baselines and ensure project control mechanisms are in place to monitor performance

Work closely with internal stakeholders on identifying and implementing new and continued training and development needs

Accurate and timely production of reporting of internal controls key performance indicators.

Identifies issues and opportunities for continuous improvement that demonstrate insightful analysis and sound judgment

Support and drive the development, implementation, and execution of strategic and business plans

Support the implementation, development, and use of practice management tools

Competencies:

Knowledge of coaching concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals or teams in learning and improving effectiveness.

Create, implement, evaluate, and enhance processes in internal controls.

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques and ability to understand, monitor, update, or enhance existing business or work processes.

Knowledge of written communications issues and ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation.

Keeps abreast of internal controls trends to assure controls activities remain effective.

Planning and Organizing \xe2\x80\x93 Mobilizes both time and resources to get things done.

Qualifications:

BA/BS/BSc (or equivalent) in Accounting or Business (or similar field) desirable

5 years of working experience in practice management role preferred

Professional Qualification preferred but not mandatory e.g., CIA or CPA

Substantial internal audit/controls experience (or similar, e.g., risk management) preferred, in an audit or control function.

Strong knowledge of internal controls practices and techniques.

Demonstrated leadership in managing people and projects and ability to develop and maintain relationships with personnel on all levels.

Experience with effective interaction with members of senior management.

Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to convey complex and technical issues in a concise and easy to understand style.

Experience of quality assurance and ability to effectively challenge peers on quality of audit work.

Experience of defining and delivering training through a variety of techniques and methods.
