Job Description

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders.

The Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) Hyderabad commenced with a mission to deliver public health education, pursue research and advocacy and support policy development. It lays strong emphasis on pursuing public health policy, practice, training and research, positioning its programmes according to the public health priorities of the state and the nation. The institute has brought together a highly qualified and diverse faculty of nationally and internationally trained and extremely motivated public health academics and practitioners. It aims to create an environment that supports excellence in instruction, research and practice.

Deliverables:

  • Administer the daily office operations
  • Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
  • Organize National and International conferences/ workshops/ meeting, etc.
  • Responsible for Hotel bookings for Guests and Hostel Bookings for PGDPHM Students
  • Carry out the tendering, procurement, auditing of Administration related works.
  • Maintain records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work
  • Coordinate and handle all HR processes & communication with the staff at the Institute under the guidance of central HR.
  • Execute plans, policies, and programs in business and financial affairs, property and equipment,
  • Supplies, Facility Management services, Catering Service, Inventory, buildings and grounds maintenance, engineering and safety programs.
  • Develop budget recommendations for operating expenditures and/or capital outlay, personal services, equipment and materials, and maintains proper records.
  • Consult with operating officials on program plans in relation to fiscal capacity.
  • Formulate current and long-range programs, plans, and policies for departmental programs.
  • Perform related work as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualification:

Essential
  • MBA or Any master degree with Administration skills
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of administrative management including organization, planning, staffing, training, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of financial management.
  • Knowledge of official planning and management.
  • Knowledge of labour relations and equal employment opportunity policies and procedures. Knowledge of the principles of office management including organization, work flow, forms, supplies, equipment, and procedures relating to filing, record keeping, correspondence, mail, procurement, stock keeping, and duplicating.
  • Knowledge of methods of research and analysis, work standards, and work simplification
  • Knowledge of training and supervisory techniques.
  • Knowledge of employee policies and procedures.
  • Ability to instruct, direct, and evaluate employees.
  • Interdependent nature, where unknowns and numerous contingency factors are involved.
  • Ability to obtain and analyze facts and precedents in making administrative decisions.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to formulate policies and procedures based on information of a conceptual nature from varied and complex sources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to maintain favorable public relations.
Experience:

Essential
  • Around 6-8 years of experience.
Desirable:
  • Prior work experience in development sector will be preferred.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, Power point.
  • Should be conversant with FCRA and other applicable laws and compliances.
