Job Description

The Assistant Manager-Design Engineering will be responsible for direct supervision of design staff for all types of Solar PV projects and serve as a technical specialist providing knowledge and expertise. The candidate will be leading the discussions on behalf of Design team while working with Sales, Supply Chain and Project Management teams to ensure a code compliant optimal solution. The candidate will also be required to understand and disseminate different technical specifications given in tenders/policy as required by the client and ensure that all Pre Sales proposals and Post Sales work is in line with the same.

Travel: Minimal Roles and responsibilities:

  Responsible for delivery of construction ready detailed electrical and structural design documentation of solar PV power plants for C&I/Residential/PSU/Govt clients.
• Will be responsible for both Pre-Sales and Post Sales work for C&I customers.
• 
  
  Collaborate with sales, supply chain and installation teams to ensure consistent, quality and on time performance of the design engineering team to its customers
• 
  
  Assist sales team in interacting with clients and conveying technical details
• Work with procurement to ensure timely procurement of required components to proper specification
• 
  
  Use his/her experience to assist and train the design team in making correct design decisions and build the team.
• Maintain metrics that track team and individual productivity and quality performance
• Lead business reviews, team training events, weekly team huddles etc.

• 
  
  BE/BTech. degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a Government Engineering College (REC/NITs)(MS/M. Tech. degree is a plus)
• 
  
  
  
  7-10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in design of solar power systems (4-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in solar rooftop systems)
• Knowledge in National Electrical/Structural/Civil Code
• Knowledge in Electrical/Mechanical and construction safety including training and requirements
• Must be proficient in Pvsyst/Helioscope/Aurora (or equivalent), Google Sketchup, Microsoft word
• Proficient with MS Office
• Strong familiarity with Indian construction design and practices
• Familiar with technical specifications of different states/PSUs for both Residential and C&I

  Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and good command of Technical writing skills
