Principal responsibilities
1. Managing the preparation and/or cooking of all food in accordance with strict time deadlines.
2. Assisting with the implementation of new policies and procedures or new working practices following review of the service, or the introduction of new legislation.
3. Deputising for the Catering Manager in their absence.
4. Liaising with the Catering Manager to ensure stocks and supplies are ordered in a costeffective and timely manner. Managing the correct storage of provisions upon delivery.
5. Be responsible, with the Catering Manager, for maintaining current food hygiene legislation, and environmental health regulations, throughout the kitchen and canteen so that food is served under approved conditions and at the correct temperature.
6. Ensuring the correct and economical use of materials and equipment and immediately reporting any mechanical defects.
7. Undertaking Personal Development and attending any training courses or meetings, as required.
8. Transferring to another school to cover, should it be required (transport could be provided if necessary).
9. Demonstrating awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other peoples behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
10. Ensuring that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons, and compliance with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety within the department
Salary : 25 K per month
