Supervises the Modeling, Blendshape, Texturing, Lookdev, Groom, Rigging crew on floor and ensures the technical and creative success of Assets production as per the established look of the picture. Meets production deadlines and quality standards.

Solves technical/production issues, defines workflows, streamlines processes and helps develop tools/frameworks for all categories of builds/assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with other departments and show team, to find the best way to build assets that fulfill the creative and technical requirements of the show and downstream departments.
  • Managing members of the asset team to facilitate all aspects of asset creation including modeling, texturing, lookdev rigging and groom of characters and creature development.
  • Quick creation of refs and initiating ideas for concept direction based on concept art. Sourcing suitable reference material required for the build and delegating this to specialists if needed.
  • Thoroughly check and understand the sequences/shots requirements and appropriately define the scope of work for assets/builds.
  • Ensure that the team is utilized to their full potential and consistently deliver high quality assets in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with the software team and analyzing workflows to determine tools that could aid in fast tracking day to day production.
  • Planning out technical aspects of the assets with the pipeline in mind
  • Working with department heads to asses difficulties and formulating plans to address them and set schedules with HOD's.
  • Work closely with production to set delivery schedules and quality standards.
  • Set up watertight processes to ensure that leads review all work for delivery so that it hits all creative and technical notes.
  • Set discipline and quality standards by leading through example and regularly provide feedback to the team.
  • Ensure that leads are effectively running their teams and provide guidance to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Implement solutions that improve department efficiency and overall team skillsets.
  • Motivate and support the team and come up with clever solutions for the department.
  • Be the key moderator between the Assets Sup/CG/Vfx sup.
  • Use your experience and knowledge and respond confidently to complex vfx problems which in turn push quality benchmarks to the highest level.
  • Strive to innovative and create a positive learning environment to bring the best out of the asset teams.
  • Assess the strength and weakness of the asset crew and initiate trainings and monitor these for effective outcomes.
  • Should have a great creative eye for detail, excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Should be able to provide confidence to production/show teams that your crew has absolute clarity in what is expected of them in terms of professionalism and asset delivery
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Good understanding of all stages of Asset Pipeline and fair knowledge of VFX and CG productions.
  • Solid knowledge of anatomy, sense of design, form, scale, and proportions in space.
  • Needs to have thorough understanding of hero character or creature vehicle/hardsurface/prop/env/ builds from photo reference or even conceptual designs.
  • Ability to manage multiple shows simultaneously and excellent organizational and managerial skills. Maintain positive attitude in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely. Demonstrate flexibility and be adaptable to any changes.
  • Ability to produce specific assets, optimized and well ordered to facilitate the work of all concerned downstream departments.
  • Should be calm, composed, and levelheaded in a deadline focused work environment.
  • Must be attentive and have a great ability to find solutions to various problems of production and show creativity in his/her management methods.
  • Be result oriented and have a desire to excel beyond standards.
