Job Description


Purpose of Position: The Business Development and Distribution Channel Sales Manager in the food industry is responsible for driving business growth through the identification of new opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and effectively managing distribution channels. They will work closely with the sales, marketing, and distribution teams to develop strategies, expand the customer base, and optimize the distribution network to achieve revenue targets. Maintaining and increasing sales of your company\'s products Reaching the targets and goals set for your area Establishing, maintaining and expanding your customer base Servicing the needs of your existing customers Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market Setting sales targets for individual reps and your team as a whole Recruiting and training sales staff Allocating areas to sales representatives Developing sales strategies and setting targets Monitoring your team\'s performance and motivating them to reach targets Compiling and analyzing sales figures Possibly dealing with some major customer accounts yourself Collecting customer feedback and market research Keeping up to date with products and competitors NO OF REPORTEES- 2 SALES EXECUTIVES: Area Sales Manager Requirements: Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, business management, or related field is preferred. Proven sales experience 3 to 5 years;sector-specific sales experience is preferred. Proven track record of meeting sales quotas. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Excellent management, leadership, and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Outstanding negotiation and consultative sales skills. Effective communication skills. Exceptional customer service skills. Requirements Sales and Revenue Growth: Increase market share within assigned territory. Secure and develop new accounts within the territory, expanding customer base by a targeted percentage. Team Leadership and Development: Motivate and lead a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team targets. Provide effective coaching and mentoring to improve sales performance of team members. Develop and implement sales training programs for the team, building product knowledge and selling skills. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment with clear communication and accountability. Relationship Management and Communication: Build strong relationships with key decision-makers at existing and potential customers in the territory. Effectively communicate product benefits and value propositions to various customer segments. Negotiate and close deals, achieving favorable sales terms and agreements. Maintain regular communication with regional and national sales management teams, providing updates and reports.
