Job Description


This Role will be an exciting opportunity to join SPG production management group which is globally responsible for maintaining high standards of production management by executing internal projects and initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the SPG Production Management team, as well as enhance the stability of the technology platform.
This role will be the team contributor based out of Mumbai.
SPG Production Management team is part of global investment banking in J.P.Morgan, responsible for front-to-back support for SPG applications Risk & PnL and post trade processing.
Primary objective of this role would be to ensure that SPG Risk and P&L would be available to Product controllers and SPG traders which helps them to analyze the risk associated with the trading of SPG Products.
The technology platform supports the #1 SPG trading business in financial services, and is currently undergoing an extensive investment to modernize the platform.
As an application support engineer, your responsibility would be to ensure stability across SPG applications, and you will also have direct exposure to support SPG business users in EMEA and NA.
Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and reducing work through automation.
You'll join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking global production management responsibilities.

As a critical production management engineer, you'll be focused on running better production applications and systems by following incident, problem and change management process

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot incidents and work with multiple stakeholders until resolution
  • Support critical and complex batch processing applications. Batches runs on Autosys and internal developed framework
  • Work with development teams on regular basis to ensure all issues and stability/resiliency enhancements are tracked
  • Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions.
  • Work on global production management objectives and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Implementation of robust monitoring to proactively identify system issues
  • Investigating production issues on behalf of business facilitating resolution with multiple teams where required
  • Working on assigned projects to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team
  • Opportunities to work on automation projects within the global team to eliminate toil
  • Perform Start of Day checks for EMEA and NA and also support applications through multiple batches

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in Application support
  • Experience on batch support and understanding of business SLA
  • Skills required: Unix/Linux, SQL, Python , Knowledge on Sybase, Oracle Database and Geneos monitoring
  • Basic knowledge of application development
  • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages, plus an interest in learning other coding languages and skills as needed
  • Knowledge on Change management , incident management and Problem management
  • Excellent Communication Skills
