Job Description


The Mission The Thermo Fisher NanoPort primary mission is to support sales of all Electron Microscopy and Spectroscopy products through demonstrations and serves as a meeting place for Thermo Fisher Applications Scientists and customers to collaborate using NanoPort demo instruments. For all these functions, the performance of the microscopes to the highest standards and general functioning and appearance of the NanoPort lab is mission-critical. The Position The NanoPort Team is responsible for providing technical and scientific expertise in the support of Thermo Fisher Scientific\xe2\x80\x99s Global sales efforts. Primary responsibilities include the following: Cultivating positive customer relationships and acting as a high-level customer interface for specific instrument/applications issues, acting as a technical expert and scientist, explaining complex technology details related to Thermo Fisher solutions and its application to scientific or industrial high-value problems. Supporting and training customers after the sale has been made and the system is signed off. Assisting Thermo Fisher Service Engineers on instrument sign offs and specific customer test, provided these were sold to customers as Non-Standard Request. Providing continuous feedback to the product groups on system performance, features, and problems while collaborating with marketing/development groups on future product developments. Assist demo system owners in performing high quality product demonstrations, including the development of new techniques and applications for Thermo Fisher partners and customers. This customer focused position is ideal for an experienced Electron Microscopist wanting to be involved with a dynamic team and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas. The Requirements Doctoral degree is greatly preferred having used Electron Microscopy for its doctoral research. Experience in a relevant commercial/research/production establishment with recent experience utilizing SEM/SDB/FIB/TEM technology in sample characterization. Knowledge of advanced technology and troubleshooting as well as operational optimization experience of analytical equipment for materials/life science. Excellent, enthusiastic, clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with a diverse audience are critical to the success of this position. Excellent customer interfacing and technical sales skills a must. Proven ability to interact with cross - functional and cross - cultural teams. Ability to travel both domestically as well as internationally and possession of a valid passport. Language: fluent English
