At ParallelDots, we are seeking a skilled Android developer to join our team and contribute to the development of native modules in Android (Kotlin) for the camera component of our app. Our existing app is built in React Native and boasts image recognition capabilities. The primary focus of this role will be to utilize Tensorflow Lite or similar libraries to enable real-time object detection from the live camera feed. The detected objects will be further visualized using Augmented Reality (AR) libraries . Additionally, we aim to create an SDK encompassing these functionalities, enabling seamless integration of our features into third-party apps. As an Android Software Developer, you will play a vital role in our team by : Researching, developing, and implementing camera functionality with live object detection capabilities. Collaborating closely with the Machine Learning team to integrate image recognition models seamlessly into the mobile app. Demonstrating full command and expertise in analyzing app performance and effectively debugging issues, including memory leaks. Possessing a basic understanding of AR libraries, such as ARCore. Utilizing bridging techniques to facilitate efficient and asynchronous communication between React Native and Android Native modules. Demonstrating high proficiency in asynchronous and background task management. Working closely with product and engineering teams to design and execute sprints. Taking ownership and responsibility for building and maintaining a robust codebase with minimal oversight. What We Expect From You To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications : Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Android Development, showcasing solid Kotlin skills At least 2 years of hands-on experience with camera libraries, encompassing CameraX and Camera2 Minimum of 1 year of practical experience with Tensorflow Lite or an equivalent machine learning library An in-depth understanding of modern Android architectural components and lifecycle management Proficiency in writing Unit and Automation tests, ensuring the delivery of high-quality code Ability to comprehend bugs and crash reports using Firebase or other relevant tools Join us and be part of an innovative team that is pushing the boundaries of mobile app development and image recognition technology.
