Summary/Objective
The role reports to the Manager – Liquidity Stress Testing and is responsible for supporting the measurement, reporting, and management of liquidity risk across the firm in a consistent and transparent manner and within well-established risk appetite. The individual partners with businesses and functions across the firm to establish and implement initiatives to improve SVB’s liquidity profile and related risk management processes. The individual will work closely with Liquidity Regulatory Reporting (FR2052a) and Governance (Limits, CFP) team ensuring a consistent view of balance sheet and liquidity across the firm. This individual possesses demonstrated initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong analytical mindset.
Essential Functions


  • These are the functions focused on a daily basis. Make a list of daily tasks, organize them into groups; identify each group as a key responsibility. List what the responsibility is, not how it is accomplished.

  • Support the creation of a sustainable liquidity risk management program that meets regulatory liquidity risk management expectations while supporting the Bank’s overall liquidity and funding strategy

  • Assist in the development of processes to ensure completeness and accuracy in data and reporting including clear documentation of process/model assumptions, limitations and weaknesses

  • Support the development, enhancement and maintenance of methodologies and models for internal liquidity stress tests (ILSTs)

  • Support the development of liquidity cash-flow forecasting for on and off-balance sheet exposures and associated documentation of ILST model

  • Prepare materials for meetings with supervisors, monthly reporting packages

Knowledge
The position requires knowledge of financial and analytical concepts. Specifically, the individual will support the ongoing development and maintenance of stress scenarios, assumptions and methodologies, periodic updates, and development / maintenance of documentation for both internal and external counterparties. Individual will also liaise with business leaders, technology, and risk management groups to stay current with liquidity developments.

  • Partner with other functions including Lines of Business, Financial Risk Management, Model Risk Management, Audit and IT

  • Actively liaise with Liquidity Regulatory Reporting (FR2052a) and Governance (Limits, CFP) team and support holistic liquidity risk management across the firm

  • Prepare materials for meetings with supervisors, monthly reporting packages

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

  • Support the assessment of liquidity impacts related to new businesses and products

Education and Experience (note if required or preferred)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Math, Economics or similar field

  • 0-2 years of experience in large or growing Financial Institutions with specific experience in liquidity risk management

  • Excellent project management, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential

  • Experience with data analysis and data interpretation, including experience with very large data sets

  • Knowledge of regulatory rules (LCR, NSFR, Enhanced Prudential Standards, Liquidity Stress Testing), is highly preferred

  • Advanced skills in Excel; Knowledge of Python or other program language is a plus
