What You'll Be Doing:
Position summary
Evolent Health is looking for an Analyst, FP&A to be a key member of the growing Finance team. This individual will join a small, fast-paced team of FP&A professionals at a growth-oriented public company and will play a critical role in executing Evolent Health's mission by ensuring that the company is able to plan for growth, execute on and track performance vs. budget, and make informed executive decisions backed by financial and strategic analysis. This individual will support on activities related to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, the Analyst will actively collaborate with the multiple business units' key stakeholders to gather inputs for reporting the key performance components and trends. This individual will also support the Corporate Finance Org in developing and producing financial and operational reporting and analysis, using proper data management and analytics techniques.
This position will require minimal amount of travel.
Essential functions
Provides thorough and accurate monthly analysis of financial performance relative to budget during financial close process
Supports Accounting team with month-end close process.
Leverages data management and data quality experience to streamline and improve analytics and reporting process
Provides reporting and analysis of key business drivers and operating metrics
Provides analysis of business risks and opportunities to support decision-making and action plans
Provides analysis on client and market-level economics
Helping the team with updating the existing business models for scenario and sensitivity analysis
Analyzes budget variances to inform future budgeting activities
Owns the monthly forecast and actuals uploads into Adaptive Planning
Presents financial performance and analysis to Corporate Finance and operational stakeholders on a scheduled and on demand basis
Manages and supports ad-hoc requests to include real estate analyses, return on investment analysis, business unit margin opportunities, etc. for senior internal stakeholders.
The Experience You'll Need (Required):
0-3 years of experience in a corporate finance function or conducting complex financial analysis in a related field (e.g. investment banking, consulting, etc.); experience in corporate FP&A role a plus
Chartered Accountant/ Post-graduate degree in Finance, Business, Accounting.
Ability to utilize Excel at an advanced level, including knowledge of key formulas and functions, data mining techniques, data tables, pivot tables, V-lookups, macros, etc.; Knowledge of Adaptive Planning is a plus
Strong analytical skills, organization, and detail-oriented
The ideal candidate must be independently motivated, a collaborative team player and adaptable to different situations and personalities
Strong communication skills to all levels of the business, including executives
Able to meet deadlines within time constraints
Ability to interpret results and recommend improvements
Mandatory Requirements:
Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.
