Job Description


Job Summary: To manage Invesco’s Metadata dictionary, ensure the quality and integrity of the metadata is maintained and support business, IT and project office staff in their use of the information housed within the dictionary.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Ensure the integrity of the Metadata dictionary and Taxonomy are maintained by working with business analysts and project teams to reuse appropriate definitions rather than create new or ill-defined business terms
  • Steward the Metadata dictionary content and load data dictionaries provided by project teams or BAU change teams in IT and the business
  • Provide guidance and training to other Invesco staff in how to access and make use of the information held within the Metadata dictionary and in how to navigate the Taxonomy
  • Keep own knowledge of the Informatica Metadata tool and of the content that Invesco has added up to date and be a subject matter expert
  • Produce metrics and other management reporting about the usage and quality of the content within the Metadata tool as required
  • Act as a champion for the use of the Taxonomy and Metadata within the Invesco project and BAU processes
  • Completes special projects to support the department as assigned
  • Problem Solving and making recommendations for process complexities
  • Responsible for knowledge retention, documentation & maintenance
  • Train the team on new & complex scenarios
  • Handle & Manage process escalations
  • Support EDO leadership team in meeting team objectives & initiatives
  • Conducts & drives brainstorming sessions periodically to identify areas of Improvements & prioritize ideas for execution
  • Constant study of changes in “Data” world impacting our industry and business process and provide insights to EDO manager

Work Experience / Knowledge:
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in data or business analysis in a financial services organization
  • In-depth understanding of the use and importance of metadata in IT and business processes
  • Knowledge of Financial Regulations and Industry practices.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of data modelling and the relationships between data entities
  • Knowledge of designing training plans and drafting procedure documents.
  • Experience of working with a leading Metadata management tool an advantage although training with Informatica will be provided
  • Experience with SQL, metadata/ data governance will be preferred

  • Strong technical skills
  • Must be able to model the relationships between data entities and derive the underlying business concepts to map physical data into a business glossary
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to analyze and interpret data for MI reporting.
  • Strong Problem-solving skills.

Formal Education:
  • Educated to PG level.
  • IT with Finance industry related certifications.

Working Conditions:
