Sr. Staff Engineer, R&D, Hardware Sensor (Analog) Development - Our Silicon Lifecycle Management (SLM) business is all about building next-generation intelligent in-chip sensors, hardware/software capabilities and analytics to integrate into technology products to manage and improve each semiconductor lifecycle stage. Meeting the unique challenges posed by various target applications, SLM enables differentiated products to market quickly with reduced risk. s & Requirements Part of the rapidly expanding Hardware-Analytics and Test (HAT) business unit, the Analog Hardware Sensor development team is chartered with conceptualizing, designing and productizing state of the art analog sensors. Those may include but not limited to on-chip Process, Voltage, Temperature, Current and Droop sensors as part of HDG (Hardware Development Group) product portfolio. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and high-caliber individual to build and lead this team in India. This individual should have strong technical experience in full custom analog/mixed-signal circuit design, custom layout, circuit simulations, post-silicon characterization and possess excellent project execution and management skillsets. The candidate will actively help in recruiting a talented team to execute on these sensor projects. Additional responsibilities include: Be the leader in HDG-India to drive analog sensor development projects Understand business priorities and break it down into technical projects Understand existing products at lower levels and identify enhancement opportunities / cost Look ahead into future opportunities and create a technical roadmap Work on establishing processes, structure and methodologies for agile execution of products Create robust quality assessment processes for products Deployment of new sensors into test chips and post-silicon characterization Accountability for managing analog sensors through different foundry nodes and phases of technology lifecycle Job Requirements Architectural and forward-looking thought process Sound knowledge of custom Analog/AMS design and backend implementation BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering with 12+ years of relevant industry experience Experience handling multiple complex projects and working with multiple stakeholders Strong knowledge of advanced process challenges, including ESD and Reliability Expertise in all, or parts of the entire design stack - device physics, fabrication technology, circuit design, standard cells, memory/hard macros, SOC integration Exposure to architecture, design and verification of PVT, Oscillators, Bandgap, PLLs, Amplifiers, PHYs and other Mixed-signal blocks Hands on experience with circuit simulation tools like HSPICE Expertise in areas of optimizing PPA (Performance, Power, Area) achieved pre-silicon and realized post-silicon, and improving execution schedules Demonstrated experience with multiple CAD flows: design, verification, backend, validation, etc. Excellent teamwork, communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills with both internal teams and external customers Preferred skills : Strong custom design experience in schematics, Verilog-A etc. Skilled in layout of analog blocks using appropriate full custom layout techniques Strong understanding of SPICE simulator concepts and simulation methods Exposure to key circuit designs like Bandgaps, Sigma-Delta ADCs, Bias generators, LDOs Familiar with circuit simulation tools like FineSim, HSPICE or similar Must have prior experience with Custom Compiler or equivalent schematic & Layout editor tools Experience with statistical design methodology like generating and analyzing Monte-Carlo results Experience in post-layout extraction & simulation, testing in conjunction with silicon validation Skilled in customer interactions and managing expectations, scope and requests Experience managing and tracking working with contract services and vendors Demonstrated technical expertise in the productization of advanced technologies Experience with yield analysis to drive yield and quality/DPPM (Defective Part Per Million) improvements At Synopsys, we\'re at the heart of the innovations that change the way we work and play.
