The Value Accelerator (“VA”) is a critical component of the Asset Management Division investing strategy. In close partnership with the corporate, growth, infrastructure and credit investment teams, the value accelerator contributes to the success of our portfolio companies through the investment lifecycle from pre-investment diligence, to scaling growth, to optimizing exit strategies. The VA team works with experienced senior executives, best-in-class professional services providers, and innovative technology providers to deliver programs and services that add value to our portfolio companies in key areas including revenue scaling, talent, ESG and risk optimization, digital transformation, and operational excellence.
As a member of the VA you will work with VA global lead of finance and operations as well as the VA core global team to help support deal teams, operating advisors, and senior stake holders whose mission is to drive value creation initiatives for our portfolio companies. Overview of Role
VA Advisors represent a group of talented and experienced senior executives who advise GS portfolio companies in key industry and functional areas as a critical component of the VA operating model. VA is building a finance and operations team to support and assist in the execution of processes for the advisor community. The team will service the full life cycle of an advisor engagement from initial onboarding to invoicing to data monitoring on advisor impact. With our growing advisor community and global footprint expansion VA needs a centralized team to run these processes efficiently, effectively, and consistently across the firm’s platform of applications and in accordance with fund mandates.
JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSBILITIES

  • Support and assist in the execution of processes for the high-touch advisor network
  • Liaise with GS teams in the on-onboarding of advisors and other third parties through life cycle of engagements which includes and is not limited to
i. Receiving and tracking approvals for hires
ii. Collection, storage, and submission of documentation for background check and payments
iii. Execution of contractual agreement
iv. Integration into VA Portal and Website
v. Training on GS policies and procedures
vi. Introduction of fee and expenses invoicing
  • Ongoing maintenance and governance of advisor engagements
i. Renewal of engagements and risk review.
ii. Compliance with allocation and travel and entertainment guidelines
iii. Tracking of board participation and compensation
iv. Assist with documentation on co-invest opportunities
  • Help to maintain data in the portal related to advisors as we well as deal level information
  • Monitor advisors’ portfolio company engagements and report on key operational and impact metrics, to help VA core team to better understand the effectiveness of engagements
  • Support other initiatives in the pipeline, escrow program, value creation plan, management reporting, advisor performance reviews
  • Lean in on additional capabilities as we scale, develop and expand the team and products.

BASIC QUALIFICATION
  • Client-service and operations experience in financial services, professional services, hospitality, retail, or related field and customer-first attitude
  • Strong project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with diverse stakeholder groups globally
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage, organize, and analyze high volumes of information
  • Team player, willing to help in areas not explicitly related to job description
  • Good judgment, independent thinker, resourceful and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Can prioritize and handle multiple tasks independently, efficiently, and effectively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP), Power Point, Zoom
  • Highest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
