Job Context & Major Challenges
Through captive mining entire production at Renukoot cannot be met and hence it doesnt meet the requirements. Private Bauxite is located at Lohardaga area. Getting such Bauxite with a right-economic mix from these suppliers requires continuous and persistent chasing, hard-nosed bargaining and managing logistic requirements in difficult terrains.In the present political context and with existence of Lohardaga division for the last 40 years or so, the suppliers/ contractors have become fixed and no new party easily comes to the area. Hence cost control becomes difficult.Because of total economy of Lohardaga region depending on Hindalco and existence of militant and several political groups negotiation becomes difficult and is a big challenge.Compliance with all Legal requirements in the face of existing practices being embedded, change in systems becomes difficult.Hindalco, the largest producer of Aluminum in the country needs 18.5 Lakh MTPA of normal Bauxite the raw material, Out of which Lohardaga Mines division caters about 60% of requirement. The position requires main thrust in mining, logistics (road & rail) with focus on quality & cost. Competent performer must be able to formulate & implement suitable strategy for mining covering aspects right from lease, exploration, land acquisition & mining, and logistics arrangements with emphasis on quality & cost.
Key Result Areas KRA (Accountabilities) Supporting Actions
KRA1 1. Check & verify timely wages register, vouchers, bills etc. Follow up internal departments for timely payment (Govt. dues every month.)
KRA2 9. Cash & Bank reconciliation Follow up with Cashier and Bank.
KRA3 8. Annual Accounts Preparation of Annual Accounts paper and approved by Addl. G.M.(F&A) and approved by Sr.V.P.(F&A) Renukoot. Submitted to A/c. department, Renukoot.
KRA4 7. Ensure timely payment to the contractors Follow up contractor & vendors to submit the bills timely.
KRA5 6. Cost Control of Bauxite Follow up for implementation of cost control policy.
KRA6 5. Balance Sheet Preparation of Balance Sheet & approved from GM(F&A) and also Sr. V.P. (F&A) Renukoot.
KRA7 4. Income Tax Deposit Tax timely.
Deposit monthly/quarterly returns timely assessment order passed up to 2002-03 and follow up for assessment 03-04.
KRA8 3. Sales Tax Deposit Tax timely.
Deposit monthly/quarterly returns timely assessment order passed upto 2002-03. Add HSD in R.C. to avail of Sales Tax benefit saving of Rs. 1.50 Lakhs per month.
KRA9 2. To Cash remittance every month Follow up with Bombay Office fortnights for telegraphically fund (CAG) time to time.
