Job Purpose
1. To act as Shift In Charge Security and ensure a safe working/living environment
in plant and township through effective management and coordination of all the securi
ty shift supervisors and shift personnels.
2. To coordinate and monitor security deployment of LDAD, New Ash Dyke and Loading St
ation, Jhingurdah.
Job Context & Major Challenges
Renusagar Power Plant is a captive power plant of Hindalco Industries Ltd. Renukoot &
was established in 1964. Since 1964, there have been 4 expansions, which resulted in
increase of unit from 2 to 10 units with total generating capacity to 741.7 MW. This
increase had direct impact on all infra structure facilities like increase in numb
er of houses in the colony i.e. over 2000 residential quarters accommodating around 1
0,000 residents, density of Traffic in township, roads & other facilities. This has i
ncreased the responsibilities of security and town administration department many fol
d. The job contexts entails safe/harmonious living and working environment in the Pla
nt and Township as well as ensure effective management and coordination of shift secu
rity comprising manpower of over 400 and annual budgetary allocation exceeding 30 Lac
s.
The main thrust is to provide a fully secure (from security point of view) & peaceful
working environment to employees & residents of Renupower Plant & Township by provid
ing best possible security measures thereby achieving high internal and external cust
omer satisfaction and continually innovate and upgrade them to reach highest bench ma
rks in the industry.Security
To coordinate the working of all Shift Sergeants as Shift In Charge Security and ef
fectively monitor/supervise daily deployment of over 200 security personnels in Plan
t and Township in an area of 25 sq kms.
Monitoring security arrangements at Loading Station, Jhingurdah, located 20 Kms from
Renusagar, which is highly susceptible to regular intrusion/raids by miscreants.
Monitoring the work and security deployment of over 70 guards by private security age
ncy at transmission line, Morwa and Long Distance Ash Disposal line to new ash dyke c
overing an area of more than 20 sq kms
Handling disputes in plant/colony areas during shift and take corrective actions as s
mallest of such incidents has the potential of snowballing into major law and order p
roblem
To carry out preliminary investigation in respect of all security related incidents i
n plant/township & initiate immediate remedial actions.
To review and rationalize security manpower deployment on periodical basis.
To ensure smooth vehicular movement in the township where on an average 1500 coal/ash
dumpers ply through every day thereby ensuring effective Traffic Management

• To monitor and oversee the security deployment of Private Security Agency along Lon

g Distance Ash Disposal Pipeline, at New Ash Dyke and Loading Station Jhingurdah & 33
KVA HT line at Morwa involving a total deployment of over 70 security personnel. 1. Ensure across the board uniform implementation of Security standing Orders.
2. Ensure up to date maintenance of security records at all gates and maintaining a d
ata bank of all subversive elements and miscreants.
3. Ensure a high standard of vigilance and maintain a good intelligence network in th
e plant and township for obtaining advance information of any untoward activity
3. Organize search operations at entry/exit gates of colony and plant area.
4. Attend immediately to any disciplinary or labor related problem in plant and colon
y area.
5. Coordinate security checks of various posts to ensure alertness of guards.
6. Organize and plan round the clock patrolling in colony and plant premises.
7. Carry out preliminary investigation in to all law and order related incidents and
recommend preventive measures.
KRA2 Liaise with local district Administrative authority as well as it local villages for smooth functioning of the plant. 1. District authority
Facilitate in maintaining good relation with Govt. officials, like, DM, SDM, SP, and
COs

ment & village Pradhans
KRA3 Promote subordinate development, upgrade skills & develop performance-oriented culture in the function 1. Monitor performance & plan for skill development & training of staff & workmen of
the department.
2. Encourage participation of Staff & workmen at various forums and train in cross-fu
nctional activities.
3. Delegation of duties with a view to help subordinate to learn new skills.
4. Motivate subordinates to participate in QC, Kaizen, etc.
5. Ensure subordinates development & developing performance & result-oriented work cu
lture.
6. Ensuring continual development of staff and workmen through LSC (Learning System T
hrough Coaching)
KRA4 To assist in preparing three year rolling budget plans for Security and Town Administration department. 1. Review & prepare plans for three years for sub departments.
2. Monitor the expenditure of funds on monthly basis with reference to the work and t
argets to be achieved.
KRA5 To ensure smooth vehicular movement in the township thereby ensuring effective Traffic Management 1. Ensure periodical Traffic checks in plant and township
2. Monitor vehicular documentation checks
3. Periodically review and update traffic rules and regulations in plant and township
KRA6 To ensure implementation of company safety policy/rules and regulations in plant and township 1. Daily safety checks in plant/township/security gates
2. Organize training/LSCs on safety and departmental safety committee meetings
