Job Description

An AGM (Assistant General Manager) for a heavy structure fabrication plant will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of production, ensuring quality, and meeting deadlines. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in fabrication processes, and experience in project management and quality control. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical or production engineering and experience in heavy fabrication, welding, and CNC machining.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
Overseeing daily operations of the fabrication plant, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Quality Control:
Ensuring adherence to quality control procedures and standards throughout the fabrication process, including welding, machining, and assembly.
Project Management:
Managing projects from start to finish, including customer interface, budget management, and resource allocation.
Team Leadership:
Leading and motivating a team of engineers, supervisors, and shop floor personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Process Optimization:
Identifying and implementing strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize workflow.
Safety Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
Inventory Management:
Managing inventory of materials and components to ensure smooth production flow.
Vendor Management:
Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Required Skills and Experience:
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes, welding techniques, CNC machining, and assembly.
Project Management:
Experience in project planning, scheduling, and execution, including the use of project management software like Primavera or MS Project.
Leadership and Communication:
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and communicate with stakeholders.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to identify and resolve production issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions.
