Mountain Shadows Resort, Wayanad, invites applications for the position of

Activity/Naturalist Assistant

to support the resort's nature-based guest programs and outdoor activities.
The ideal candidate will assist the Naturalist in conducting guided walks, birdwatching sessions, adventure activities, and cultural experiences, ensuring that guests enjoy an educational, safe, and memorable stay surrounded by the pristine beauty of Wayanad.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Support & Activity Assistance

Assist the Naturalist in organizing and conducting guided nature walks, birdwatching, butterfly trails, and plantation tours. Support the coordination of adventure and recreational activities such as cycling, kayaking, fishing, and village visits. Help set up and manage activity equipment, safety gear, and trails. Interact courteously with guests and provide basic information about local flora, fauna, and Wayanad's natural environment. Ensure guest comfort and safety during all outdoor experiences.

Environmental Education & Conservation

Promote sustainable tourism practices and help educate guests about the resort's eco-friendly initiatives. Participate in habitat maintenance, tree planting, and biodiversity documentation within the resort property. Support the creation of interpretive materials such as signage, species lists, and trail maps.

Operational Support

Maintain activity schedules, attendance records, and guest feedback logs. Ensure all activity-related equipment is clean, well-maintained, and stored properly. Coordinate with other departments (housekeeping, maintenance, F&B) for smooth execution of guest programs. Assist the Naturalist in preparing reports and maintaining a logbook of wildlife sightings and events.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in

Environmental Science, Forestry, Zoology, Botany, Tourism, or Hospitality Management

preferred.

1-2 years of experience

in eco-resorts, nature camps, adventure tourism, or hospitality guest activities. Passion for nature, wildlife, and guest engagement. Good communication skills in

English

; knowledge of

Malayalam and Hindi

desirable. Energetic, outdoors-oriented personality with a friendly and service-minded attitude. Basic first-aid knowledge and ability to handle outdoor conditions. Photography or birdwatching interest is an advantage.

Work Conditions

Full-time position based at Mountain Shadows Resort, Wayanad. Outdoor role requiring flexible working hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends). Accommodation and meals provided within the resort. Uniform and activity equipment provided by the resort.
