Role amp; Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting Manage the agency\'s banking relationships and investments Provide financial reporting and analysis to the management team and board of directors Should have experience in end-to-end accounting Accounting and Reporting: Supervising the accounting team and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Preparing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Generating financial reports for management and stakeholders. Perform various GL month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations such as Cash and Investments, Tamp;E Expense, Fixed Assets and Expense Accruals etc. Preparations of Bank Reconciliation. Taxation and Compliance: Managing tax planning and compliance, including income tax, TDS, GST and other applicable taxes. Staying up-to-date with tax regulations and ensuring the company\'s compliance with tax laws. Liaising with external auditors and tax authorities during audits. Team Management: Setting performance goals and conducting performance evaluations. Promoting a collaborative and productive work environment within the finance department. Ensure all the sub-functions of finance are engaged collaboratively to ensure accounts are maintained current and clean. Vendor and Contract Management: Managing contracts related to financial services and agreements with suppliers. Cost Management: Recording and mapping expenses to respective cost centers. Technology and Systems: .Staying current with technological advancements in finance and accounting. Compliance and Reporting: Ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and reporting requirements. Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit requests and inquiries from our external auditors Client Management Managing contracts related to financial services and agreements with suppliers. Handle queries from clients related to TDS, GST, SOA etc. Ad hoc accounting projects and requests, as needed Educational Background Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is usually the minimum requirement. Many candidates may have a Master\'s degree in Finance or an MBA for senior roles. Professional Certification Certified Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred. Other relevant certifications like Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) can also be considered Experience 7-10 Years of Extensive experience in accounting roles in service industry Experience in media or agency-related finance roles is valuable due to the unique dynamics of the industry. Leadership Skills Strong leadership and managerial skills are crucial for managing a team of finance and accounting professionals. Experience in team supervision and mentoring is important. Knowledge Of Indian Taxation A thorough understanding of Indian tax laws, including income tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and other applicable taxes, is vital. Technical Proficiency Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems commonly used in India (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, etc.). Experience of using Microsoft Dynamic 365 will be an advantage. Strong Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis and modeling. Regulatory Compliance Knowledge of Indian financial regulations, such as the Companies Act and SEBI regulations, and the ability to ensure compliance with them. Team Collaboration Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, delivery, client servicing and content production, to ensure smooth data flow. . Adaptability The Indian media industry is dynamic and constantly evolving. Being adaptable and open to learning new trends and technologies is crucial. Ethical Conduct High ethical standards and integrity are expected, especially when handling financial information and complying with Indian corporate governance principles. Local Industry Knowledge Familiarity with the Indian media and entertainment industry, including understanding of media-specific financial metrics and regulatory requirements, is a significant advantage.
