Accounting & Finance Associate - Chaosactive Holdings Pte LtdChaosactive is a decade old organization of multiple small businesses led by competent and motivated young entrepreneurs. We are looking for an Accounting & Finance Associate to support the Finance Manager in ensuring accounting quality and efficiency.Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for daily bookkeeping across a number of small businesses. This includes revenue and cost accounting, inventory, asset management, budgests, preparation of financial reports and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk.You will be actively involved in every step of the accounting process, so it's a great way to gain experience in Singapore accounting and compliance standards. You will assist the Finance Manager in enhancing the accuracy of the organization's reported financial results, monthly management reporting, communicating financial statements, major investment issues, financial analysis to investors and stakeholders, and ensuring that reported results comply with Singapore Government's reporting requirements.This position is a full time remote job; you will get to work in the comfort of your own home. You may be required to travel to Singapore once or twice a year for face to face meetings. But other than that Zoom is your best friend.The businesses under our organization are primarily in the food and beverage industry.
However, we are also expanding into businesses outside of food and beverage. We are presently building interests and assets in investments, fitness, engineering, education and ecommerce. The ultimate goal is to help our entrepreneurs focus on creating value instead of being loaded with backend work, and develop better systems to ensure that the growth of the organization is future proofed. You will be assisting the Finance Manager in developing systems to create a clear picture of the organization's overall financial health, and shared systems to standardize financial processes across the group.We are very focused on efficiencies; using cloud-based systems and creating applets that make processes simpler and more effective. The goal is to help our leaders and associates focus on creating value rather than spending the time on backend work. You are required to be proficient in XERO for financial management, and assist the Finance Manager in ensuring real-time visibility into the financial state of the organization, both on the individual business and on the group level.At Chaosactive, we work as self-sufficient, autonomous teams. But if freedom, autonomy, and life-affirming, head scratching professional challenges are what you're looking for, we might be a match!Accountabilities And Tasks: Accounting & Reporting

  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports as necessary.
  • Prepare financial data for entry into the accounting system, and ensure proper documentation for conduits of work operations.
  • Assist in issuing timely and complete financial statements, corporate annual reports, management cost reports and documentation for management reporting.
  • Assist in issuing financial and operating metrics.
  • Assist in the production of the annual budget and forecasts, calculating variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
  • Assist in financial analysis as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Assist in new processes and system implementation when required.
  • Prepare schedules to be reviewed by the Finance Manager.
  • Any ad hoc duties assigned by the Finance manager.
TransactionsAssist the Finance Manager in:
  • Ensuring that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable.
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly.
  • Processing payroll in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.
  • Ensuring that required debt payments are made on a timely basis.
  • Maintaining the chart of accounts.
  • Maintaining an orderly accounting filing system, and a system of controls over accounting transactions.
ComplianceAssist the Finance Manager in:
  • Coordinating the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
  • CPF filing, tax filing, and other relevant tasks to manage compliance as per Singapore Government reporting requirements.
  • Monitoring debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
  • Managing and ensuring the accuracy of the organisation's capitalisation tables.
  • Managing Corporate Secretarial compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related fields.
  • Professional Accountancy Qualification - CA, CPA, ACCA.
  • 3+ years relevant working experience
  • Proficient in Google Sheets and accounting software XERO.
  • Quantitative and analytical mindset with distinctive operational and business judgment, attention to detail, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working experience in F&B/Hospitality industry is a plus.
