As the Zonal Sales Manager, you will oversee end-to-end sales strategy, productivity, and business expansion across assigned states in North India. You will be responsible for developing high-impact sales frameworks, ensuring operational excellence, and driving consistent revenue growth for the Gold Loan vertical. The position calls for a strategic thinker who can balance business goals with customer-centricity while ensuring strong compliance, risk management, and portfolio quality.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Gold Loan business for the North Zone, ensuring achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Develop and execute zonal sales strategies to drive customer acquisition, improve branch-level productivity, and expand market penetration.
  • Oversee daily operations of the GL vertical, ensuring smooth loan processing, documentation, appraisal accuracy, and turnaround time.
  • Work closely with regional and cluster managers to monitor branch performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Drive new business opportunities by identifying emerging markets, competitor activities, customer trends, and expansion prospects.
  • Strengthen the gold loan portfolio by ensuring high-quality underwriting standards, minimal delinquency, and strong risk controls.
  • Guide teams on customer acquisition, cross-selling, lead generation, and customer relationship management to maximize lifetime value.
  • Collaborate with credit, operations, compliance, and risk teams to ensure seamless workflows and governance across all branches.
  • Lead manpower planning, hiring, coaching, and capability building for the zonal GL sales workforce.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly performance reviews; define KPIs and ensure strong adherence to process discipline.
  • Drive strong culture of field activity, branch visits, audits, customer engagements, and on-ground execution.
  • Implement digital and tech-enabled tools to enhance efficiency and customer experience within the GL ecosystem.
  • Ensure adherence to AML, KYC, appraisal standards, and company policies across all gold loan transactions.
  • Build relationships with vendors, appraisers, local market influencers, and community groups to improve visibility and network strength.
Skills & Competencies
  • Deep expertise in Gold Loans (GL), business development, and zonal-level sales leadership.
  • Strong understanding of the North India market, customer behavior, and branch-based financial services.
  • Proven track record in managing large teams, multi-state operations, and high-volume gold loan portfolios.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and people leadership abilities.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and implement data-backed strategies.
  • High integrity, customer orientation, and ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Experience
  • 15 to 25 years of experience in Gold Loans, Retail Lending, or BFSI field roles.
  • Must have led large multi-state sales operations, preferably in the Gold Loan domain.
