Snippets about Zonal Sales Head
The person in this role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in all aspects of Sales, Specifications & Marketing in the assigned Zone to achieve the business objectives. This would include sales process improvement and infrastructure management.
The Zonal Sales Head has a very big responsibility and is very sensitive to sales. a zonal sales manager drives a very big team. A zone is handled by the zonal sales manager. Most of the time 3- 5 states are covered by 1 zonal sales manager. Zonal manager is responsible for making the most profitable zone. He is responsible or accountable for managing the activities in coworkers\' area, delivering assigned sales goals and related objectives from the strategic sales plan. He is more responsible for the implementation of activities and analysis of current culture present in the team. He handles a 50 -70 people team.
He gives the direction to the sales manager to achieve the sales target in rupee wise. He always analyzes the team and develops future managers in his team. The zonal sales manager should be smart, intelligent, bold, knowledgeable, know the fact of markets and have industry knowledge, market knowledge.
His position will report to the VP -Sales & BD.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Zonal Sales Head, you will be responsible for:
Drive and over achieve weekly/monthly and yearly targets for all depots and states of your respective zone
Hold consistent meetings with each state on a daily/weekly/monthly basis along with respective stakeholders to ensure no friction in achieving targets
Identify the critical/burning issues of the Zone affecting sales & take remedial action/ escalate wherever needed
Forecast basis demand and work with purchase/category team to ensure price and availability
Achieve inventory planning and control in such a manner that the stock is sufficient for immediate order fulfillment as well ensuring that the products do not exceed the expiry date.
Ensure team will work as per our business process
Hold regular meetings with everyone to discuss the planning and any gaps for upcoming week/month across teams
Measure performance of the team members, identify gaps and arrange training sessions accordingly
Hire new rockstar talent to build a stronger team as and when required
Retain and motivate existing team members
Monthly performance review with sales head to discuss achievements, gap analysis and plan for next period
Drive all state level metrics apart from sales across stakeholders - marketing, purchase, category, credit, logistics
Plan and implement strategies to increase wallet share in the respective region/states
Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends. Study and analyze Retailer requirements, trends and plan product launches and portfolio expansion.
Increase morale in his team during meeting and in batch wise sessions and maintain discipline and decorum in his team
Planning and structuring the business and team
Increase the morale of people to take new responsibilities and develop new managers in his team
Coordination with NSM / HO deliver effective communication in co workers
Education & Experience
MBA/PGDM / MS/M.Sc(Science) in Agriculture
Min 7-8 years of experience in the respective industries Fertilizer/Agrochemical / Seed Industry
At Least 50% -60% of the region ( like 3 states out of 5 states ) has work experience in respective Zones.
Strong and in-depth market & Geography knowledge. Preference to candidates having strong work experience in respective zones.
Candidates having exposure to manage sales remotely and strong bend towards products, competition & consumer analytics.
Should have worked on the ground and should have a strong understanding of Agri-input.
