Position Title: Zonal Manager - Logistics & Customer Service
Reporting To: Chief - Logistics
Location: BR - Delhi
Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech; MBA from a Tier-1 institute preferred
Experience: 8-15 Years
Purpose of the Role:
The incumbent will be responsible for leading logistics, warehouse operations, and customer service across the North Zone. This role will ensure operational excellence, cost efficiency, and superior customer satisfaction through effective inventory, transportation, vendor, and infrastructure management.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Warehouse Operations
Manage warehouse operations in alignment with company policies and processes.
Review and re-map existing warehouse processes; recommend and implement improvement plans.
Review depot (including CFA) performance and drive improvements in low-performing depots.
Identify new CFA partners in case of discontinuation or for network expansion.
Oversee Hub and RDC operations for the North & North Zone.
2. Inventory Management
Monitor stock ageing and execute liquidation plans to prevent obsolescence.
Review white stock at depots and ensure accurate stock classification through monthly self-audits.
Maintain inventory accuracy across depots; prepare internal and external stock audit reports.
Ensure stock availability at all depots as per demand.
Manage stock interchange and transfer at depots, RDCs, and hubs.
Drive liquidation of P/D and LSP stocks.
Analyze stock vs. pending orders to improve Value Fill Rate (VFR).
Optimize truck utilization (volume/weight) and enhance loading/unloading practices to reduce in-transit damages.
3. Transportation Management
Identify, negotiate, and onboard transporters for new routes.
Monitor transporter performance and ensure timely vehicle placement at RDCs.
Prioritize dispatches for RED and BLACK category stocks daily.
Address and resolve delays in service; recommend route and transporter improvements.
Drive cost negotiation and implement cost reduction initiatives.
4. Infrastructure Management
Identify and develop new office or warehouse infrastructure as needed.
Evaluate and improve warehouse infrastructure, including IT equipment.
Oversee branch, depot, guest house, and hub infrastructure.
Identify and manage CAPEX requirements; ensure asset availability as per records.
Manage overall asset maintenance and physical verification.
5. Customer Service Management
Ensure stock availability at WSS and drive TOC (Turnover Cycle) improvements.
Ensure timely closure of customer complaints as per TAT.
Represent the company in distributor and customer meets.
Handle escalations from internal and external customers; provide prompt resolutions.
Collaborate with ZSM, RSM, and NSM on field-related operational issues and solutions.
6. Branch Administration
Oversee branch, warehouse, and guest house administration and employee welfare.
Conduct Location Functional Committee meetings at all branches in the zone.
Ensure statutory compliance across all establishments (branches, warehouses, guest houses).
Handle legal cases, W&M compliance, and related branch support services.
7. EHS, Safety & Statutory Compliance
Ensure 100% statutory compliance (fire NOCs, licenses, insurance, labour laws, etc.).
Maintain safety standards in warehouses to prevent accidents.
Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
Ensure closure of Legasis & IFC points within timelines.
8. Vendor Management
Identify and evaluate service providers for branch, warehouse, and hub operations.
Ensure vendor selection, onboarding, and contract management per company policy.
Review vendor performance monthly and drive improvement plans.
Ensure timely bill processing and payment within two months of service receipt.
Maintain "No Due" or "Nil Balance" confirmations from vendors half-yearly.
Ensure accurate provisioning and expense booking.
9. Sales Accounting & Receivables Management
Supervise billing and accounting operations through warehouse teams.
Drive receivable collections and minimize exceptions.
Ensure adherence to all commercial policies across locations.
Ensure timely closure of balance confirmations and FFS reports.
10. Budgeting & Cost Control
Lead annual budgeting and monthly cost monitoring processes.
Drive cost optimization initiatives and ensure adherence to budget allocations.
Report cost savings and efficiency improvements on a monthly basis.
11. Other Responsibilities
Ensure alignment with Head Office guidelines and compliance standards.
Provide regular updates to HO on regulatory and operational matters.
Drive new policies, process improvements, and business support initiatives.
Lead training, skill development, and motivation of the zonal logistics team.
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience in handling large-scale logistics operations with high volume and complexity.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Strong understanding of warehouse, transportation, and inventory best practices.
Hands-on experience in cost control and continuous process improvement initiatives.
