The Radiographer is responsible for operating imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, assisting physicians in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role involves ensuring patient safety, maintaining equipment, and adhering to radiation protection protocols.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI, Ultrasound (based on qualification/specialization).
Position patients correctly and ensure their comfort and safety during procedures.
Operate and maintain radiographic equipment efficiently and safely.
Follow proper radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and self.
Ensure accurate patient identification and maintain records of imaging procedures.
Collaborate with radiologists and medical staff for timely reporting and diagnosis.
Prepare imaging rooms and equipment before procedures.
Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent when required.
Monitor and report equipment malfunctions for timely repair.
Maintain confidentiality of patient records and comply with hospital policies.
Participate in continuous professional development and training programs.
