The X-Ray Technician will be responsible for operating dental radiographic equipment, ensuring accurate imaging, maintaining patient safety, and supporting the dental team with timely and high-quality diagnostic images.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Radiographic Imaging
Perform dental X-rays including IOPA, OPG, CBCT (if applicable), and other intraoral/extraoral radiographs.
Ensure correct patient positioning, exposure settings, and image clarity.
Upload images to the patient file / digital software promptly.
B. Safety & Compliance
Follow radiation safety protocols as per AERB guidelines.
Ensure proper use of lead aprons, thyroid collars, and protective measures.
Maintain radiation logbook and daily machine quality checks.
C. Equipment Handling
Operate and maintain radiographic equipment ensuring minimal downtime.
Report any malfunction or repair needs immediately to the concerned team.
D. Patient Care
Explain procedures to patients clearly and reassuringly.
Assist patients with positioning and comfort during imaging.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
E. Documentation & Coordination
Maintain updated records, imaging reports, and register entries.
Coordinate with dentists and specialists for timely image delivery.
Support clinic workflow during busy hours.
3. Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques and safety standards.
Ability to operate dental imaging software (e.g., DEXIS, Carestream, etc.).
Excellent attention to detail and image quality.
Patient-centered communication and professionalism.
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
4. Experience
Minimum 1-2 years preferred (freshers with good technical skills may apply).
