1) Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body under the supervision of a Radiologist and performs related duties
2) Adjusts x-ray equipment to correct setting for each examination; positions and instructs patients of all ages; and determines proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each radiograph
3) Selects proper film and inserts into holder
4) Positions x-ray equipment at proper distance and angle from patient's body to present clear and undistorted view and adjust collimator to direct concentration of rays on specified area
5) Steps behind protective enclosure and flips switch to activate machine which automatically cuts off at the end of present exposure time
6) Repeats exposure procedure from slightly different angle as prescribed by physician
7) Places exposed film and patient's identification slip into wall safe for processing by darkroom assistant
8) Follows same procedure to operate mobile x-ray equipment in the Operating Room, Emergency Room or at bedside
9) Must wear protective clothing
10) Before internal organs are x-rayed, it may be necessary for the patient to drink barium salts or another chemical mixture to assure that the organs show clearly in the x-ray picture
11) Follows the age requirements to prepare and administer these mixtures to patients
12) Develops film by automatic processing
13) Prepares and maintains records and files as directed
14) Cleans and makes minor adjustments to equipment

The Computed Tomography (C.T.) Technologist is a highly skilled professional who uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.
1)Operate head or body x-ray scanners which create a computer generated cross-sectional image, commonly called a CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scan
2) Responsible for educating and preparing patients for their examinations
3) Provide patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures
4) Take patient medical history before an exam
5) Position patients so desired anatomy will be demonstrated
6) Determine and set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
7) Assume responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients
8) Supervised by a radiologist but afforded a great amount of independence and responsibility
