You will work alongside physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality imaging services.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures (X-rays) using stationary and portable equipment.
Position patients correctly to capture accurate images, minimizing radiation exposure.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and radiation protection measures.
Operate, maintain, and calibrate imaging equipment according to manufacturer and institutional guidelines.
Evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and ensure comfort.
Assist radiologists with advanced procedures as needed.
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs in the hospital's PACS and EMR systems.
Comply with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies regarding patient privacy and data protection.
Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advancements in radiographic technology.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
Valid certification by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or equivalent.
State licensure (if applicable).
CPR/BLS certification.
Minimum of
5 years of experience
as an X-ray Technician in a clinical or hospital setting.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficient in using digital radiography (DR), computed radiography (CR), and portable X-ray systems.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, patient positioning, and radiographic techniques.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
Work Environment:
Clinical and hospital settings with possible exposure to infectious diseases, radiation, and bodily fluids.
May require evening, weekend, or on-call shifts depending on facility needs.
