Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Operate X-ray and CT equipment to produce diagnostic images according to physician orders. Explain procedures to patients, answer their questions, and ensure their comfort and safety. Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Adjust equipment settings based on the examination being performed and the patient's needs. Follow radiation safety procedures to protect patients, staff, and self. Evaluate images for quality and notify radiologists of any abnormalities. Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging procedures in electronic health records (EHR). Assist radiologists and physicians during procedures as needed. Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions or arrange repairs. Ensure rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready for each procedure.

Qualifications:

Education:

Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Certification:

Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (R) required. CT certification (CT) preferred or required depending on the facility.

Licensure:

State licensure (if applicable).

Experience:

Prior experience in a clinical imaging environment preferred.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of anatomy and radiographic positioning. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Proficient in using imaging software and PACS.

Work Environment:

Hospital, imaging center, or outpatient clinic setting. May require evening, night, weekend, or holiday shifts. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting patients, and operating heavy machinery.
