Job Description

As the Writer & Director - Reels at Haris&Co, you will be the creative force behind short-form video content that drives engagement across platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. You'll conceptualize, script, and direct high-performing reels that reflect brand strategy, audience insights, and platform trends. From ideation to final cut, you'll ensure every reel tells a story that's authentic, scroll-stopping, and visually dynamic.
You'll work closely with the Social Media Strategists, Creative Directors, Designers, DOPs, and Editors to bring campaign ideas to life -- combining creative storytelling with cinematic execution to craft content that connects and converts.
Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and write creative scripts for reels, short videos, and social-first campaigns.

• Direct on-set shoots -- guiding actors, models, and crew to bring scripts to life.

• Collaborate with the DOP and production team on framing, pacing, and visual storytelling.

• Stay on top of social media trends, viral formats, and emerging storytelling techniques.

• Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, tone, and strategic goals.

• Participate in brainstorming sessions with the social media and design teams.

• Prepare shot lists, storyboards, and creative decks for client approvals.

• Oversee post-production to ensure edits, pacing, and transitions match the creative vision.

• Deliver high-quality content consistently across multiple clients and brands.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Writer, Director, or Content Creator in an agency or digital content setting.

• Strong understanding of storytelling for short-form video (Instagram, YouTube Shorts, TikTok).

• Ability to conceptualize and execute scripts quickly while maintaining creative excellence.

• Experience directing on-set with models, actors, and production teams

• Familiarity with camera work, lighting, and editing basics.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

• A portfolio of reels, short films, or branded content that demonstrates creativity and direction skills
