Job Description

Job Purpose:

To supervise and manage daily workshop operations, ensuring timely production, maintenance, and repair activities with adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Experience Required:

5-7 years

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and supervise workshop activities for smooth operations. Allocate jobs to technicians, fitters, and operators based on priority. Monitor progress of production/repair tasks and ensure deadlines are met. Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines, tools, and equipment. Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in the workshop. Conduct inspections of finished work to ensure compliance with quality standards. Manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables; raise requisitions as needed. Provide training and guidance to workshop staff to improve efficiency and skill levels. Prepare daily/weekly reports on production, machine utilization, and manpower deployment. Coordinate with other departments (Production, QA, Purchase, Stores) for smooth workflow. Enforce discipline, attendance, and adherence to company policies among workshop staff.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and tools. Good understanding of preventive & breakdown maintenance. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills. Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a workshop. Computer proficiency (MS Office, ERP preferred). Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

On-time completion of production and repair jobs. Machine uptime and efficiency. Reduction in breakdown frequency. Quality compliance and reduction in rework/rejections. Safety compliance and zero accidents. Effective manpower utilization.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
