The Workshop Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring quality service, timely repairs, effective manpower utilization, customer satisfaction, and adherence to safety and company standards. The role involves coordinating with technicians, spare parts teams, customers, and management to maximize productivity and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and supervise workshop activities to achieve service goals.
Allocate jobs to technicians and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery.
Diagnose complex vehicle / machinery issues and support technicians as needed.
Coordinate with spare parts department for required components availability.
Monitor job cards, billing, service estimates, and repair quality.
Ensure preventive maintenance schedules and service turnaround time (TAT).
Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and safety standards.
Handle customer escalation and provide technical feedback.
Conduct daily meetings with service team to track performance.
Maintain productivity report, service records, and MIS reports.
Improve service processes, reduce rework, and increase customer satisfaction.
Train and supervise technicians for technical skill improvement.
Monitor workshop cleanliness, discipline, and compliance.

Knowledge of job card system, billing, warranty handling, and TAT.

Qualification & Experience
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in workshop management or service supervisor role.
Experience in automotive / commercial vehicles / construction equipment preferred.
Salary Range
As per industry standards / Negotiable based on experience.
