We are seeking a dedicated and experienced

Works Manager

to lead the operations of our

mechanical workshop in Nashik

, engaged in the

manufacturing of Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)

and

precision machined and fabricated components

. The ideal candidate must have

hands-on experience in machining and fabrication operations

, and must have

started their career as a shop-floor worker

, gaining practical knowledge on machines such as

lathe, milling, drilling, and welding equipment

before moving into supervisory and managerial roles.

Key Responsibilities:1. Workshop Operations



Manage all workshop functions including

machining (CNC, VMC, conventional), fabrication, assembly

, and

testing

of SPMs. Oversee day-to-day activities on the shop floor to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery.

2. Hands-On Technical Supervision



Supervise and support operations involving

lathe machines, milling machines, drilling machines, CNCs, VMCs

, and

welding machines

(MIG/TIG/Arc). Guide the team with practical solutions, leveraging deep hands-on knowledge of shop-floor practices.

3. Machining & Fabrication Oversight



Monitor the production of machined components and fabricated parts with strict quality adherence. Ensure fabrication quality including weld integrity, dimensional accuracy, and finishing standards.

4. Production Planning & Coordination



Plan and allocate work based on project requirements, manpower, and machine availability. Coordinate with design, planning, purchase, and QA teams for smooth project execution.

5. Quality Assurance



Ensure components and assemblies meet drawings and customer specifications. Collaborate with the quality team for inspection, corrective action, and continual improvement.

6. Team Leadership & Training



Lead a team of machinists, welders, fabricators, and fitters. Mentor junior staff and technicians, imparting skills and maintaining discipline and safety on the floor.

7. Continuous Improvement



Drive process improvements, implement 5S, and improve shop efficiency. Enforce preventive maintenance and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience:



Education:

ITI / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Career Path Requirement:

Must have started as a shop-floor worker/operator

with

practical experience in machining and fabrication

(e.g., lathe, milling, welding). Progressed through supervisory and managerial levels based on hands-on capability and leadership.

Experience:

8+ years

in a mechanical workshop environment. Strong expertise in operating and supervising

CNC machines, VMCs, conventional machines, and welding setups

. Experience in

SPM assembly and testing

is highly desirable.

Skills:



Deep technical understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (with GD&T). Effective communication and leadership skills. Familiarity with ERP/workshop management software and lean tools (5S, Kaizen, etc.).

Preferred:



Experience in ISO 9001-certified workshops. Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic automation systems used in SPMs.

Remuneration:

Competitive salary based on experience and skill set.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
