The Works Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the automobile workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality service standards, and customer satisfaction. The role involves managing technicians, ensuring timely vehicle delivery, maintaining productivity, and meeting service targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all workshop activities including vehicle repairs, maintenance, and service jobs.
Allocate work to technicians based on skills and workload.
Monitor job progress, quality, and adherence to timelines.
Ensure effective utilization of manpower, tools, and equipment.
Conduct daily job card reviews and monitor workshop performance metrics.
Ensure adherence to manufacturer service standards and company policies.
Handle customer escalations and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Ensure availability of required parts and materials through coordination with the parts department.
Implement safety and housekeeping standards within the workshop.
Prepare service reports and assist in budgeting and cost control.
Train and motivate the technical team for skill development and performance improvement.
Coordinate with service advisors, body shop, and other departments for smooth operations.
