THE OPPORTUNITY

The Modern Workplace engineer at SoftwareONE represents a key area in the organization’s ability to keep pace with the IT needs of Internal Users, Direct Customers, VARassist, Strategic Publisher Partners and contribute in building and maintaining the modern IT workplace services of the company. SoftwareONE anticipates the need to manage hyper-growth for the next several years. Business IT is considered one of the cornerstone areas for supporting this growth.
SoftwareONE Business IT focuses on proven ITIL based processes. As part of a global IT organization, this position is working and driving the end-to-end product/service responsibilities, from day-to-day operation to Service Design/Service Transition processes area. The position will combine these global and local standards and be responsible to provide a top-notch service.

Role Description

• A member of a cross-functional E2E delivery team
• Uses their expertise to support developing, testing, and deploying components of a solution that deliver value to clients
• Closely collaborates with other team members and the Product Owner.

• 
  Together with the teammates and the product owner you are the interface to our end-users, you understand the demands and translate that into solutions and services that we will provide
• Provide day to day operation support of the endpoint computing environment and all IT related topics with end-user to ensure defined SLA are met.
• Procurement, preparation, and delivery of the devices to the end users
• Installation and maintenance of all IT hardware available in our subsidiary
• Escalation of unresolved ticket or new request which is out of team scope to the next level of support
• Contribute to the development companywide workplace strategy with all its surroundings globally together with the IT Workplace team.
• Administer the client-computing environment together including user access management with the other workplace teams member to ensure clients are maintained in accordance with the SoftwareONE standards
• Collaborate closely with the workplace team to support Windows client rollouts using Microsoft Endpoint Manager but also ensure the compliance/policies on personal devices and smartphone/tablets.
• Work with different vendors around the client workplace area.
• Depending on the business requirement, working in shifts is expected including weekends and outside business hours

  Works closely together with the Modern Workplace Portfolio Team members.
• Experienced working in a global team and understands cultural differences
• Exchange operational experience and provide constant feedback to the IT service portfolio leaders and product owners.
• As Workplace is one of the most visible customer services in our IT service Portfolio, Customer Relations are very important. One of our principles “Customer Centricity” brings the customer directly into the middle of the solution

• 
  Good working knowledge of Windows Client OS platforms, specifically Windows 10/11
• Good knowledge of hardware and its configuration such as laptop/notebooks, Wired/Wireless LAN, VPN and other end user devices
• Hands-on experience with end-user applications, e.g. Microsoft (365) Office Suite, MS Teams, Anti-Virus, OS/System Troubleshooting
• Workplace Security Knowhow (Endpoint security, Windows Firewall, Windows Defender ATP)
• Knowhow of Asset management solutions (Snow or ServiceNow with Interfaces/APIs)
• Knowledge in Active Directory / Group Policy Management for client environments
• Knowledge in Cloud Solutions, such as AWS or Azure is preferred
• Automation Knowhow, Scripting/PowerShell is a plus.

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering or related degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience in supporting client workplace solutions within medium to large organizations (>500 users)
• A desire and interest to stay up to date with the latest changes in Windows and integrated software technologies.
• Highly self-motivated, ownership and results oriented
• Contributes to knowledge sharing within a community (e.g. team, practice, or project)
• Reuses existing knowledge to accelerate solutions delivery
• Ability to translate requirements into tangible results
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a global IT environment.
