Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Workday Extend Developer to design, build, and deploy innovative applications on the Workday platform. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Workday Extend, proven experience with Workday's integration ecosystem, and a passion for optimizing HR and financial workflows. This role requires a blend of technical, analytical, and communication skills to deliver high-impact solutions for our business.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design:
Architect, design, and document custom applications using Workday Extend based on business requirements and best practices.
Application Development:
Build, test, and deploy solutions leveraging Workday Extend, integrating with native Workday features as well as external systems.
Integration:
Develop and maintain integrations between Workday and third-party systems using Workday Studio, EIB, and core connectors.
Collaboration:
Engage with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, explain Extend's capabilities, and iterate through solution refinements.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose, resolve, and prevent issues associated with custom Workday applications.
Documentation:
Produce clear documentation of custom applications, design patterns, and integration points for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with Workday's roadmap, new features, and industry best practices to continually enhance application stability, scalability, and user experience.
Security & Compliance:
Implement and maintain robust security practices, ensuring applications meet GDPR, SOX, and other relevant compliance standards where applicable.
Governance:
Apply Workday's security model, ensure data privacy, and maintain documentation.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
3+ years' hands-on experience developing with Workday Extend and the Workday platform.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Workday Extend, Workday Studio, EIB, XSLT, REST/SOAP web services, and Workday's API framework.
Development Methodologies:
Strong understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and Agile methodologies.
Problem Solving:
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a solution-oriented mindset.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience translating technical concepts for business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Workday certification(s) in Extend and related modules.
Prior experience with Workday Prism, Workday Integration Cloud, and BIRT.
Familiarity with financial, payroll, or HCM business processes.
Previous experience mentoring junior developers or leading project teams.
Experience in regulated industries (utilities, banking, healthcare, etc.).
Key Skills & Technologies
Workday Extend: App Builder, Orchestration, PMD Scripting, Model Components.
Integration: REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors.
Certifications (Must Have)
The Workday Certifications needed would be Extend, Orchestrations, and Integration/Studio Certifications. Developer for implementation of Workday Extend full platform Workday ERP implementation
