We're looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to design, implement, and manage WordPress sites for our organization. You'll be responsible for both front-end and back-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring high performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
Responsibilities
You'll design and develop custom WordPress themes from scratch based on design specifications and client requirements. You'll build and customize WordPress plugins to extend site functionality and meet specific business needs. You'll be responsible for website and software application design, development, and maintenance, ensuring responsive design across all devices and browsers. You'll optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability, implementing best practices for performance. You'll conduct website performance tests and troubleshoot content issues, addressing bugs and technical problems promptly. You'll monitor site security, implementing security measures and keeping WordPress core, themes, and plugins updated. You'll collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers to ensure seamless project execution. You'll also manage WordPress database operations and perform regular backups, while staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
You should have 2-4 years of proven work experience as a WordPress Developer with a strong portfolio of WordPress projects. Strong proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery is essential. You need expertise in PHP and MySQL database management, along with experience with responsive and adaptive design principles. Familiarity with page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg is required. You should understand how to interact with RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services. Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, is necessary. You need strong understanding of website architecture and aesthetics, with knowledge of SEO principles and ensuring sites meet best practices. The ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines is crucial.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.js is a plus. Knowledge of WooCommerce development for e-commerce solutions would be beneficial. Familiarity with hosting environments and server management (cPanel, AWS, etc.) is valued. Experience with website security best practices and tools is advantageous. Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) is appreciated. Previous experience with custom post types and custom field implementations adds value.
