About the role

We are looking for a skilled Woodworking Specialist with expertise in technical drafting, material optimization, and production planning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed woodworking drawings, accurate cut lists, and comprehensive BOMs to streamline manufacturing and ensure high precision in execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Drawings & Drafting: Create precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings of furniture and wood-based products, including joinery details. Cut List Preparation: Develop detailed cut lists specifying material dimensions, grain orientation, and joinery requirements for efficient production. Bill of Materials (BOM): Generate accurate BOMs with materials, quantities, hardware, and finishing details to assist procurement and production teams. Material Optimization: Optimize wood usage to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency. Collaboration: Work closely with designers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure feasibility and manufacturability. Quality & Compliance: Ensure designs align with strength, durability, and sustainability standards while maintaining aesthetic and functional quality. Software Usage: Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) and woodworking tools for precise documentation. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry best practices, new materials, and woodworking techniques to enhance production efficiency.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Education: Diploma/Degree in Woodworking, Furniture Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.

Experience: 3+ years in woodworking, furniture design, or manufacturing, with a strong focus on technical detailing.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar CAD tools. Strong understanding of woodworking joinery, materials, and finishes. Ability to create precise cut lists and BOMs for production.

Soft Skills:

Attention to detail, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

Bonus Skills (Preferred, Not Mandatory): Knowledge of CNC programming, parametric design, or digital fabrication techniques.

Preferred Experience:

3-5 years Experience working in a furniture manufacturing unit Familiarity with export quality standards Understanding of environmentally friendly production processes.
