WMS Development Delivery Lead



YOUR ROLE

As Development Delivery Lead, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between project and technical teams. You will ensure the efficient execution of assigned tasks, proactively remove impediments, and drive successful project delivery outcomes.



YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be the IT Deployment single point of contact for assigned countries and/or projects. Accountable for end-to-end delivery of all aspects within the responsibility of IT Deployment - including tender support, development, WCS automation, performance and regression testing etc. Act as the primary interface between project and technical teams, ensuring smooth task assignment, execution and prompt resolution of blockers. Actively participate in design workshops, progress meetings, and collaboration sessions to help define delivery scope, understand the solution landscape, and support the technical team with clarifications and understanding of expectations. Review all incoming activities and requests to the technical team, ensuring they meet acceptance and quality standards before work begins. Prioritise and manage the delivery of tasks assigned to the technical team, ensuring alignment with project goals. Coordinate resources across multiple activities, ensuring the right people are engaged at the right time for the appropriate duration. Proactively manage cross-stream dependencies and ensure timely escalation of systemic risks. Support release planning and coordination with projects, operations or deployment teams. Ensure timely delivery of work to defined quality standards and within budget. Apply effective risk management and negotiation skills to balance competing demands and deliver optimal outcomes. Manage dependencies, risks, and issues that may impact the team's success. Identify and address team needs and constraints, escalating to stakeholders or the wider organisation when necessary. Ensure the team is appropriately sized and skilled to meet current and future demands. Maintain a proactive approach to delivery, anticipating challenges before they arise. Leverage strong stakeholder engagement skills to build relationships, gain buy-in, and manage expectations effectively. Keep stakeholders regularly and proactively informed of progress and developments. Communicate complex issues clearly and concisely, recommending actionable solutions. Collaborate with other Development Delivery Leads to meet demand during peak periods. Create and maintain accurate reporting, records, and documentation related to team activities, including financials, demand, and forecasts. Produce governance, risk, and satisfaction reports for senior stakeholders as required. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as velocity, cycle time, and defect rates. Use metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Report on team performance trends to stakeholders. Facilitate retrospectives and implement lessons learned to improve future delivery cycles. Drive continuous improvement not only in processes but also in technical quality, team capability, and stakeholder value delivery.





YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

Experience of both the Contract Logistics domain and Corporate WMS applications. Experience of managing delivery in the technical domain A proven track record of delivering activities on time, budget and quality. Hands-on experience of agile project management preferable. High-level communication skills, including experience of communicating effectively across cultures and with diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing. Ability to listen to multiple perspectives and resolve conflict in a way that maintains healthy relationships between stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills, the ability to understand and support the needs of diverse demands and anticipate how one action may cause/impact another. The confidence to offer ideas and solutions, and to question the validity of information. * Good people-engagement skills; the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels of the organisation and impart knowledge and experience in an accessible and clear manner.
