General Summary:

Over the last few decades the Wireless R&D group at Qualcomm has been instrumental in driving the mobile communication revolution which has touched every aspect of our modern life. The Qualcomm Wireless R&D group has been a key player in moving key technologies on both the cellular and WLAN/connectivity domains from concept to lab to actual mass scale real life deployments. You now have an opportunity to join this team and work on cutting-edge wireless communication technology designed for the 60GHz mmWave band, including those based on the IEEE 802.11ad/ay standards.



In this role you will be responsible for development of the FW and Host SW for the wireless communication systems operating in the 60GHz band. This position primarily works on low level FW development that interfaces directly with the HW. The role requires working closely with Hardware and Systems engineers to deliver high quality software, optimize system performance for various applications and work closely with customers to bring the best solution to the market.

Requirements

Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Preferred qualifications:

At least 3 years of experience with embedded software development

Ability to program in C, C++

Good understanding of embedded software architecture

Proven hands on experience and debugging skills in the lab

Good communication skills across engineering disciplines, both verbal and written

Following is a plus:

Master's degree in relevant stream

Experience in scripting with Python, Perl

Device driver development experience

Experience with various operating systems such as Linux, Windows and Android

Expertise in RF software development

Multi-discipline experience with real-time SW (FW), HW, RF design

Experience with 802.11 standard and software
