Job Description

The Western Instrumental Music Teacher is responsible for teaching students the fundamentals and advanced techniques of Western music. The teacher develops a structured curriculum, conducts practical and theory lessons, prepares students for performances and examinations, and fosters an engaging and creative learning environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Training



Conduct regular instrumental music classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. Teach techniques such as posture, fingering, rhythm, articulation, reading notation, scales, chords, and performance skills. Guide students in understanding Western music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm exercises. Prepare students for recitals, concerts, competitions, and graded exams (Trinity, ABRSM, Rockschool, etc.). Provide personalized feedback to improve technique and musical expression.

Curriculum & Lesson Planning



Create structured lesson plans tailored to students' skill levels and learning goals. Select suitable repertoire including classical, contemporary, jazz, and popular music (as applicable). Maintain a consistent practice schedule and progression plan.

Performance & Event Preparation



Organize and conduct student recitals, ensemble performances, and annual concerts. Assist with accompaniment, ensemble coordination, and stage readiness. Plan rehearsals and guide students in performance etiquette and confidence-building.

Administrative & Collaborative Duties



Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student development. Coordinate with other teachers for interdisciplinary music programs or events. Help with instrument maintenance, tuning, and classroom setup.

Skills & QualificationsRequired



Proficiency in at least one Western instrument (piano, guitar, violin, drums, etc.). Strong knowledge of Western music theory, notation, and performance techniques. Prior teaching experience or professional performance background. Ability to teach students of different ages with patience and clarity. Good communication skills and an encouraging teaching style.

Preferred



Certification from recognized music boards (Trinity College London, ABRSM, Rockschool, etc.). Ability to teach multiple instruments or group ensembles. Experience with digital music tools or music software (GarageBand, Logic, Muse Score, etc.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
