We are looking for a passionate and energetic Western Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging dance lessons, develop choreography for performances, and cultivate a love for dance in learners of all ages. This role requires creativity, professionalism, and a strong knowledge of Western dance styles including jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, and musical theatre.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dance Instruction:
Plan, prepare, and conduct high-quality Western dance lessons for students of various age groups.
Teach foundational and advanced techniques in jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, and other Western styles.
Ensure a positive, motivating, and safe learning environment.
Adapt teaching methods to suit students' skill levels and learning abilities.
2. Choreography & Performances:
Design and choreograph routines for school events, competitions, and recitals.
Collaborate with teachers and coordinators for annual day performances and cultural events.
Encourage student creativity and performance confidence.
3. Student Development & Engagement:
Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
Motivate students to achieve personal and group dance goals.
Foster discipline, teamwork, and a love for dance.
4. Administration & Coordination:
Maintain class records, attendance, and performance evaluations.
Coordinate with performing arts staff, school administration, and event organizers.
5. Professional Development:
Stay updated with current Western dance trends and techniques.
Participate in workshops, seminars, and continuous learning opportunities.
Incorporate new teaching methods and choreography ideas into lessons.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or degree in Dance / Performing Arts or equivalent professional experience.
Proven experience teaching Western dance styles (jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, etc.).
Strong choreography and stage performance skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with children and teens in a supportive, motivating way.
Energetic, creative, and passionate about dance education.
