Job Summary

The Patient Coordinator/Translator is responsible for assisting patients and their families with registration, appointments, documentation, and communication with doctors. The role includes translating conversations between patients and medical staff in

Bengali-English / Hindi-Bengali

to ensure clear understanding and smooth patient care.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Handling

Greet patients and guide them through registration and OPD process. Assist in scheduling appointments, follow-up visits, and diagnostic tests. Provide support for admission and discharge processes. Explain hospital procedures, policies, and billing information in simple Bengali.

Translation & Communication

Translate doctor-patient conversations from

English/Hindi to Bengali

and vice versa. Support international/north Indian patients who need language assistance. Ensure accurate and sensitive translation of medical information.

Operational Support

Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and departments (lab, radiology, pharmacy). Maintain and update patient records in system/EMR. Help patients with consent forms, insurance documents, and reports.

Patient Experience

Resolve patient queries politely and promptly. Ensure patients receive timely updates regarding reports, procedures, and waiting times. Collect patient feedback and escalate concerns whenever required.

3. Required Skills

Fluent in

Bengali

and

English

; Hindi added advantage. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of medical terms (basic level preferred). Good computer skills (MS Office, hospital software). Ability to handle patients with empathy and patience.

4. Qualifications

Any graduate

(preferably BA / BSc / BCom). Experience in hospital / healthcare customer service is preferred. Freshers with strong language skills can also apply.

5. Work Conditions

Rotational shifts depending on hospital policy. Front desk / OPD / ward assistance roles as required.
