Job Description

Leadership and team management

Supervise and direct the daily activities of welding teams. Train and mentor junior welders on best practices and problem-solving. Provide technical guidance on welding techniques and procedures. Manage and coordinate the team's workflow to meet project deadlines and milestones.
Quality and compliance

Conduct inspections of both in-progress and completed welds to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant welding codes, standards, and procedures. Verify that the correct welding procedures and materials are used for each job. Work with weld inspectors to maintain specified standards. Maintain detailed records of inspections, quality checks, and project progress.
Safety and maintenance

Develop and enforce strict safety protocols to create a secure work environment. Monitor and control all aspects of health, safety, and environment (HSE). Inspect and maintain welding equipment and tools, coordinating repairs as needed.
Project coordination and administration

Interpret blueprints and work orders to plan and schedule welding activities. Collaborate with project managers and engineers on complex fabrications and technical issues. Manage and requisition necessary supplies, such as welding rods and gas. Maintain accurate records of welding activities, material consumption, and performance. Approve work hours and appraise employee performance.
