to lead our welding engineering department. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in welding processes, codes, and standards (ASME, ISO, AWS), with a proven record in developing
WPS, PQR, and WPQ
documentation and managing end-to-end welding operations in a fabrication/manufacturing setup. This role demands strong leadership skills, technical acumen, and the ability to drive welding quality, process optimization, and compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation, review, and approval of
Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ)
in line with ASME, ISO, and AWS standards.
Define and control welding processes, parameters, filler wires, and consumables based on engineering drawings, codes, and material requirements.
Establish, implement, and monitor welding standards, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
Supervise and guide welding teams to ensure
on-time, high-quality, and cost-effective fabrication
of stainless steel, alloy steels, aluminum alloys, and other materials.
Oversee and coordinate
mechanical and chemical testing of materials
, ensuring conformance to specifications and regulatory requirements.
Conduct
process optimization
to improve welding quality, reduce defects, and enhance productivity.
Lead
root cause analysis, corrective actions, and troubleshooting
of welding-related issues.
Ensure compliance with statutory codes, international standards, and customer specifications during fabrication and production.
Conduct and oversee
welding audits, inspections, and qualification programs
for welders.
Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless execution of projects.
Provide
technical leadership, mentoring, and training
to engineers and welding technicians.
Stay updated with the latest welding technologies, codes, and industry practices, implementing relevant innovations.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
or
Metallurgical Engineering
(mandatory).
CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS-CWI, or equivalent international welding certification
is highly desirable.
Experience
10-18 years of relevant experience
in welding engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership/managerial capacity.
Strong background in
fabrication of stainless steel, alloy steel, and aluminum alloys
.
Proven expertise in preparing and qualifying WPS, PQR, WPQ, and managing welder qualifications.
Hands-on exposure to
advanced welding machines, NDT processes, and automated/semi-automated welding technologies
.
Technical Skills
In-depth knowledge of welding metallurgy, consumables, and welding parameters.
Strong understanding of
mechanical & chemical testing methods and material properties

Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, codes, and welding standards.
