Job Description

:

A Welding Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving welding processes to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of welded products and structures. This role combines materials science, engineering principles, and manufacturing expertise to support production operations and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Process Development & Optimization

Design, develop, and qualify welding procedures (WPS, PQR, WPQ). Select appropriate welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, SMAW, FCAW, laser welding, resistance welding). Optimize welding parameters to improve cost, quality, and throughput.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure welded components meet industry codes (e.g., ASME, AWS, ISO). Conduct weld inspections, testing (NDT, destructive tests), and failure analysis. Prepare and maintain documentation related to welding qualifications and certifications.

Manufacturing Support

Provide technical support to production teams and troubleshoot welding-related issues. Define welding sequences, fixturing requirements, and equipment specifications. Participate in root-cause analysis for weld defects and implement corrective actions.

Materials & Equipment

Select suitable base materials, filler metals, gases, and consumables. Recommend new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Safety & Training

Promote safe welding practices and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards. Train welders and production staff on procedures, equipment, and best practices.

Skills & Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of welding metallurgy and heat treatment. Familiarity with design standards (AWS D1.1, ASME Sec IX). Experience with CAD software, welding simulation tools, or robotic welding systems.

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to work cross-functionally in manufacturing environments.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
