The Welder is responsible for joining metal components using appropriate welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Arc, or Gas welding. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, ensuring high-quality welds, performing inspections, and maintaining equipment in a safe working condition.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
Set up welding machines based on job requirements.
Weld materials using MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), Flux-core (FCAW), or Gas welding methods.
Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
Operate metal cutting, grinding, and shaping tools as needed.
Repair and maintain welding equipment and tools.
Comply with safety regulations and use PPE at all times.
Identify material defects and report any issues to supervisors.
Perform finishing tasks such as grinding, polishing, or cleaning welds.
Maintain accurate records of work performed.
Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Welder (X years preferred).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Knowledge of various welding techniques and equipment.
Good understanding of metal fabrication processes.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Physical stamina and ability to work in heat, confined spaces, or at heights (if required).
Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME, or equivalent) is an advantage.
