Job Description

A Welder Fabricator in a construction company creates, repairs, and installs metal structures by interpreting blueprints, cutting, bending, and welding materials (MIG/TIG/Stick) to precise specifications. Responsibilities include operating fabrication machinery, ensuring structural integrity, and adhering strictly to safety protocols (OSHA) in both shop and field environments.

Fabrication & Welding:

Cut, shape, and weld metal components (steel, aluminum, stainless) using MIG, TIG, or Stick welding, often in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions.

Blueprint Reading:

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to plan layouts, dimensions, and assembly procedures.

Material Prep:

Operate shop equipment such as shears, saws, plasma cutters, drill presses, and bending machines to prepare materials for welding.

Quality Control:

Inspect and test welds for accuracy and structural soundness, grinding or cleaning finished products to meet specifications.

Safety & Maintenance:

Follow strict OSHA safety guidelines, maintain a clean workspace, and ensure welding equipment is serviced and in good working condition.

On-Site Construction:

Assemble and install structural components, such as beams, railings, staircases, and frames on construction sites.
