Job Description

Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and other metals as required. Fabricate and assemble metal structures according to drawings and specifications. Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and fitting before welding. Read and understand technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication sketches. Ensure dimensional accuracy during assembly and welding. Inspect welds for quality, penetration, and alignment. Identify and correct weld defects such as porosity, undercut, spatter, etc. Maintain welding parameters (current, voltage, wire feed speed, gas flow). Set up welding machines, select appropriate wire, nozzles, and shielding gas. Maintain welding equipment and tools in proper working condition. Report any equipment faults immediately.

Required Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in MIG welding on different materials. Ability to read engineering and fabrication drawings. Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Knowledge of welding techniques, joint preparation, and heat control. Experience in grinding, cutting, and metal finishing (preferred).
